What does custom crating cost?
Every crate is priced to the item, because every crate is built to the item. The drivers are size and weight, how fragile the piece is, whether we build on site or in the shop, and where it’s going. Send photos and rough dimensions through the quote form and you’ll get a written number back — not a range.

Do you build the crate at my home?
Usually, yes. For pianos, marble, art, and televisions we build around the piece where it stands, so it’s never carried through a doorway unprotected. Smaller items can come to the shop instead if that’s easier.

Do you ship or transport the item yourselves?
No. Rosewood builds the crate and prepares the piece; delivery is arranged on your behalf with a carrier. That keeps us focused on the part that protects your item, and it means we’re not tied to one trucking company’s schedule.

Can you crate something for international shipping?
Right now we build for domestic freight. Wood packaging that crosses most borders has to be heat-treated and stamped under ISPM-15, and Rosewood is not certified for that mark yet. Tell us where your shipment is going — for some items we can build entirely from exempt engineered panels, and where we can’t, we’ll point you to a certified provider rather than send you into a border hold.

What can you crate?
Pianos and instruments, motorcycles and powersports machines, fine art and antiques, marble, stone and glass, flat-screen televisions, gym and fitness equipment, and the things that never came with a box — taxidermy, chandeliers, sculpture, saunas, kamado grills.

How much notice do you need?
It depends on the size of the job and what’s already booked. Tell us the date you’re working toward when you request a quote and we’ll confirm what’s possible before you commit to anything.

What areas do you serve?
Calgary and the surrounding communities — Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere, Springbank, and Bearspaw — with no travel charge. We also take work in Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Brooks, where a travel charge applies and is quoted up front.

Do you do installation as well as crating?
Yes. White-glove installation is the other end of the same job: uncrating and debris removal, placement, assembly or reassembly, art hanging, and anchoring. Delivery is arranged; the work at the destination is ours.

Do you work with moving companies?
Yes — crating for movers is a core part of what we do. Your client, your brand, our crates. We show up when promised, and we never solicit your customers.

What do you need from me to quote a crate?
Photos of the item, rough dimensions if you have them, the pickup address, and where it’s going. If you don’t have exact measurements, say so on the form — a free in-home estimate is usually the faster route to an accurate number anyway.

Can you take a TV off the wall?
Yes. The bracket comes off the wall, and the mount, bolts, and cables are bagged and labeled with the set. Removing a bracket can leave anchor holes that need patching afterward — that’s wall repair, which isn’t part of the service, and we’ll point it out before we start rather than after.
